Vance J. Owen
Vance J. Owen is the founding father of Owen & Associates. Internationally known as “El Abogado Guero,” Mr. Owen was raised in Guadalajara, Mexico and is fluent in both spoken and written Spanish. He received his Bachelor’s degree with a dual major in Spanish and History from Southwest Texas State University in 1986. Mr. Owen obtained his Juris Doctorate degree in 1989 and has continually practiced law in Texas since that time. He has successfully represented hundreds of clients with wrongful death and catastrophic injury claims. His experience involves cases resulting from: automotive and other product defects, heavy truck accidents, industrial and residential explosions and fires, workplace related injuries, nursing home neglect and medical negligence. Mr. Owen was among the first attorneys in the nation to successfully recover for his clients who suffered from Bridgestone/Firestone tire failures on Ford Explorers. He has represented family members of dozens of people killed in airplane and helicopter crashes, in the U.S., Mexico, South America, and the Philippines. Mr. Owen has served as a legal analyst on breaking news stories for the CNN en Español and Univision television networks. He is involved in a variety of community affairs and charities in both the U.S. and Mexico. Mr. Owen oversees the operations of the firm’s main office as well as the satellite offices and joint ventures with other attorneys and law firms around the country and the world.
